Four of the five capital-city price-cycle lengths were wrong (Sydney was shown as about 2 weeks against the ACCC's about 5, so out by more than double; Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide were also understated), and Hobart, Darwin and Canberra were described with cycle behaviour attributed to the ACCC, which publishes nothing about those cities. The panel now carries the ACCC figures (Sydney about 5 weeks, Melbourne about 6, Brisbane about 6.5, Perth weekly, Adelaide about 2.5; no published cycle for Hobart, Darwin or Canberra) and states, per the ACCC, that cycles have mostly not run in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide since late February 2026.

The method note said the eastern capitals run discounting cycles of three to five weeks. Per the ACCC they run about five to six and a half weeks, and cycles have mostly not occurred in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide since late February 2026, which covers the whole measurement window. The correction is marked inline on the note, with its consequence for the measurement stated there: the cycle is no longer available as the explanation for the steep baseline ramp the note reports.

Editorial corrections (logged on this page): a quantitative figure was wrong, a source was misattributed, a date was wrong, a regulation was described inaccurately, a framing materially misled readers. We log these even when the underlying error was inherited from a primary source, because the page that ran the wrong figure is on us to correct.
