Independent reporting on Australia's fuel security, run by a single editor against the discipline of primary sources only.
Last updated and reviewed: 1 August 2026
FuelCrisis.com.au tracks the days of fuel cover Australia is holding, the prices households are paying at the pump, and the supply chain status that links the two. Every quantitative claim on the site is either traceable to a named primary source or explicitly labelled as derived or editorial, through its provenance badge, source line, and the methodology data-sources table.
The site exists to translate fuel-market data into household decisions. The audience is Australian drivers, small business operators, and journalists who want a defensible figure they can cite. The editorial register is preparedness-monitor by default and only escalates to crisis framing when one of the published trigger thresholds is crossed.
The full thresholds, weights, and band cutoffs are documented on the methodology page. The funding model and the categories of money we will not accept are documented on the editorial standards page.
FuelCrisis.com.au is published by Modero. The site, the editorial style, and the underlying data pipeline all sit under the Modero brand. It is run by a single editor writing on Australian fuel security, cost of living, and household financial response to energy shocks.
If you spot an error or believe a framing is wrong, email info@fuelcrisis.com.au with the page, the section, the error, and the evidence. We acknowledge within 2 business days and respond substantively within 10 business days.
All corrections are dated, retained, and published on the corrections log. A correction does not delete the original; it annotates it.
FuelCrisis.com.au does not give financial, investment, or emergency-management advice. We report figures and explain mechanisms; readers make their own decisions. We are not a government agency, an industry body, or a research institution. We are an independent editorial product with a primary-source discipline.
We do not run programmatic display advertising. Our funding model is disclosed affiliate placements, negotiated directly; an affiliate placement appears only where a relationship is active and disclosed, and until then the relevant links are simply not shown. Clearly labelled sponsorships and business-to-business licensing are planned, not yet active. See the partners page for how to work with us. The full monetisation posture (affiliate categories accepted, categories excluded, B2B licensing rules) is published on the editorial standards page.
